“It's okay, baby,” she said. “I'm sure we'll end up taking turns. But for tonight, I just really want to remember what it was like when you were little, and you used to come sleep with us when you were scared. That means you get the middle.”
Once her left foot was all warmed up, he moved onto her right foot. Sarah wondered had her father done this before. Maybe he did this for her mom. Though why she would run away from this was another question entirely.
