“Well... it's not really Daddy's fault,” I teased. “He caught me doing my magic trick, and then he just couldn't resist.”“Magic trick?” she asked, adorably confused.
“I can’t speak on Lord Noah’s behalf or pretend to understand what he thinks or feels. I can only tell you what I believe: trust him. Trust his reasoning. Maybe it’s because you were close that he didn’t want to endanger you.”
Mrs. B. was a great teacher for 10th grade English. Funny, engaging, personable—and a bit flirty.
